Presentations

As a psychotherapist, visiting assistant university professor, school counselor, special education teacher, a chair of workshops for adolescent girls, and as a local, national, and international presenter, I have conducted multiple presentations on a wide range of topics around relationships and other mental health concerns. In addition, I am available for presentations and interviews.

For Mental Health Professionals:

More Than Sorry: 5 Steps to Deepen Your Apology after You Have Committed Infidelity

A presentation on the tools to help the adulterer openly discuss their transgression and move to personal growth, authenticity, honesty, and potentially relationship repair. This Gestalt approach to working with couples also encourages the mental health professional to explore personal biases that affect therapeutic work with couples.

Telehealth Counseling Sessions

As a therapist, I utilize a humanistic approach and emphasize awareness in the here-and-now. I tap into Gestalt therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family system theories and use psychoeducational techniques.

I have a small telehealth practice where I meet, via Zoom, with clients dealing with:

Relationship Problems

Depression and Anxiety

Grief and Loss

All your feelings are honored and will be validated. My job, as your therapist, is to enhance your self-understanding, teach skills needed for self-regulation, self-care, and facilitate clarity in decision making.

Tips on how to get the most out of counseling:

  • Attend sessions with a willingness to be open and honest.
  • Identify your goals for therapy.
  • Commit to making change.
  • Accept responsibility for mistakes.
  • Commit to collaboration with myself as your therapist.
  • Continue to work on homework outside of counseling sessions.

These sessions are confidential and legally protected. Disclosure to a third party requires your written consent. However, threats to your safety or others require, by law, that I disclose information to the appropriate party. You will receive a Statement of Understanding before the first telehealth session specifying this mandate.
